Mark Warburton pleased by win over Rotherham
Brentford manager Mark Warburton praised his side from front to back after they beat Rotherham 2-0.
Goals in stoppage time at the end of each half helped Brentford to the win at the New York Stadium.
Andre Gray scored the opener after being let in by soft Rotherham defending and substitute Nick Proschwitz sealed it late on when he tapped in from Jon Toral's centre in the battle of the Sky Bet Championship newcomers.
Warburton felt his team played the way they had to in order to claim three points.
He said: "It was a magnificent performance. We knew what to expect. They are a very organised side, with some very talented players and the physical talent of Alex Revell.
"I thought Harlee Dean and James Tarkowski were excellent. We played very, very well with some great patches of play.
"Could we have been more clinical? Yes we could, and a special mention for David Button who has made two or three tremendous saves and really dominated the box in the second half."
Warburton also feels that goalscorer Gray will be a hit in the Championship.
He added: "Andre is raw, and sometimes that rawness creates randomness, you don't know what he is going to do. He worked his socks off for the cause.
"I think the international break is a good thing. We've had a tough schedule, as all the teams have. We've had Saturday-Tuesday all the way through and I think the players are ready for that short break.
"It's a task we look forward to, and we have to make sure we maximise the international breaks."
Rotherham manager Steve Evans felt his side should have won the game and he criticised the refereeing display from Stuart Attwell.
He felt that they should have been given more time to fight for an equaliser.
Evans fumed: "I think they have had a little bit of assistance from the referee who I thought was poor all day. It seems to be every time we have him that he's poor.
"What he adds at the end is embarrassing. It looked as if at one point today if we would have had 20 minutes we would not have scored.
"We dominated them for long periods. We hit the woodwork and we had it (cleared) off the line.
"We had a succession of chances. They broke away a minute from half-time then we are pushing everyone forward in the injury time when they get the second so we discount that.
"It's quite hard to take. We have had two home performances against Watford and Brentford and we should have six points but we have nothing to show for it.
"Goals win matches and Brentford have come and nicked the win. We have to earn our points and our performance was super. They have been battered from start to finish.
"But I don't include the striking department in that because we have missed a succession of chances."
