Leeds match-winner Mirco Antenucci excited for future
Leeds match-winner Mirco Antenucci believes there is plenty more to come from Neil Redfearn's improving side.
Antenucci's double in Saturday's 2-0 home win against Derby took his tally to seven goals in 16 appearances since Leeds paid an undisclosed fee in the summer to bring him to Elland Road from Ternana.
"I am very happy because that is the first time I have scored twice in a game for Leeds," said the Italian, who signed a two-year deal in August.
"I tried to get a hat-trick but I couldn't quite get the third. It was the best game I have played for Leeds since joining at the start of the season.
"When I score and we win, it the most perfect feeling for me. This was a big win for us against a good team.
"We are growing match after match and there is still a lot more room for improvement.
"We can still get better because the teams in the Championship are very similar in terms of ability.
"There is little difference between a lot of the teams and when we play like we did (against Derby) in terms of pressing and passing the players can show how good they are."
Antenucci said he had been inspired by the presence of his daughter at Saturday's match.
"My daughter came to the game for the first time - so she was lucky for me," he added.
"This is a special time for me because my family is the most important thing to me but to be happy with my football and scoring goals makes this time really special. It's a fantastic moment for me and I hope it can continue."
