Veteran striker Mario Gomez, who missed Germany's triumphant FIFA World Cup™ campaign last year with a knee injury, was on Friday recalled for forthcoming friendlies against France and the Netherlands.
Coach Joachim Low also summoned goalkeeper Kevin Trapp and 19-year-old Schalke striker Leroy Sane for the first time for the games in Paris on 13 November and at Hannover four days later.
Gomez, 30, has been absent from the squad for almost a year but has been handed a second lease of life after impressing with Turkish side Besiktas.
Trapp, 25, who plays his club football with Paris Saint-Germain in France gets a chance to press home his case to be understudy to first choice Manuel Neuer.
Low has rested Mesut Ozil and Toni Kroos while captain Bastian Schweinsteiger and Sami Khedira return from injury.
