Chesterfield end interest in Mansfield's Sam Clucas
Chesterfield will not make a second bid for Mansfield midfielder Sam Clucas after their local rivals told them he is not for sale, according to Sky sources.
The Spireites made an offer for the 23-year-old this week, which the Stags discussed, but have decided to end their interest after signing Gboly Ariyibi on a free transfer from Leeds.
Chesterfield remain keen to add further faces before the transfer window shuts at midnight on Sunday August 31.
The Derbyshire club are hunting for a striker but have so far been unable to find a suitable addition within their budget.
Chesterfield have a list of more than 500 players they have been working through this summer, and have already added Charlie Raglan, Charlie Dawes, Daniel Jones, Michael Onovwigun and Romuald Boco over the last two months.
However they lost talented defender Liam Cooper, who signed for Leeds.
