Wigan boss Uwe Rosler feels for James McArthur after Leicester move collapses

Wigan manager Uwe Rosler has revealed his sympathy for midfielder James McArthur after Leicester City pulled the plug on a potential deal on Friday.

Scotland international McArthur was in the process of making a move to the King Power Stadium after the Championship club agreed a fee to sell the central midfielder.

However, newly-promoted Premier League side Leicester ended their interest in the 26-year-old on Friday and instead they unveiled the signing of 52-cap Argentina international Esteban Cambiasso.

Rosler criticised the change of heart from Leicester, claiming the situation has left McArthur unsettled.

“He had already said goodbye to everybody at the club,” Rosler told the Daily Mirror.

“It’s very difficult for us to understand. I feel sorry for James, I think he got used, in a way.

“We and James will have to live with that. Now, we have to make sure we get him right again.”

McArthur did train with Wigan on Friday and could feature for when they host Birmingham at the DW Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
