Juan Cuadrado is staying at Fiorentina

Fiorentina president Andrea Della Valle has revealed winger Juan Cuadrado will be staying at the club, ending speculation of a move to Barcelona.

Following a successful World Cup campaign with Colombia, Cuadrado was linked with a move away from the Stadio Artemio Franchi, with Barcelona and Manchester United reportedly interested in the 26-year-old.

In Brazil, Cuadrado was matched only by Germany’s Toni Kroos in the assists chart, setting up four goals for Colombia as well as netting a penalty in their 4-1 win over Japan.

Cuadrado, who started his career with Independiente Medellin, has scored 19 goals and provided 16 assists in 121 Serie A appearances and Della Vale is delighted to retain his services.

"Cuadrado remains in Florence, he confirmed to me this morning that he will stay," he told the Italian press.

"We can say it with certainty. Juan has confirmed to us he will to stay. I think it's a big gift.”

It will come as a relief to Fiorentina head coach Vincenzo Montella, who was quoted in La Nazione last month as saying: "I have never thought of losing Juan.

“He's been here in the past, he is here now and he will be here in the future.”
