Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero vows to return to Independiente

Sergio Aguero has vowed to return to former club Independiente when he does eventually leave Manchester City.

After penning a new five-year deal at the Etihad Stadium, the Argentinian hitman has netted twice for City from the bench in the opening two games of the new Premier League season.

However, the 26-year-old has revealed that it remains his desire to return to his boyhood club Independiente in his native Argentina, most likely at the culmination of his current contract.

"I have always said that I am going to return to Independiente while I am physically fit," Aguero told a press conference.

"I am sure that once my contract has ended at City I am going to return.

"I don't want to return at an age when everything will cost me too much."

Aguero insists financial reasons will not deter him from making the move, with his father a member of the board and his brother amongst the youth ranks.

"I am more interested in the youth divisions, as that is where my brother is," Aguero added.

"I want to see how the dressing rooms are and all what they need.

"When it rains, they can't train. I told my father to pay attention to these things."
