Mellon targets third cup upset
Shrewsbury manager Micky Mellon insists another cup upset will put the League Two club back on the map.
Town host Norwich in the Capital One Cup third round on Tuesday aiming to shock the high-flying Championship outfit.
The Shrews stunned Premier League side Leicester in the last round having already dumped out Blackpool.
The Canaries are second in the Championship and unbeaten since the first game of the season, but Mellon wants to prove his team are on the up.
"When you're rebuilding a football club every game is really important because that's where you get judged," he said, with Shrewsbury sixth in League Two.
"As a club we want to get ourselves back in the headlines and that's how you do it, in the cup.
"It's another opportunity to announce the club is on the rise again and to put pride back into the place.
"It's very high on our priority list. There's always the dream you'll maybe get one of the big clubs in the next round.
"It's different for the players because they are coming up against players who they may have only seen on TV before so it adds to the romance."
