Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris calls for fan patience
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has called for fans to be patient as his side look to get over their slow start to the season by defeating arch-rivals Arsenal on Saturday.
After two wins in their opening two encounters, it was all looking very rosy for Spurs as Mauricio Pochettino began his White Hart Lane reign in impressive manner.
However, one point and two home defeats since have dampened the mood in north London, but Lloris insists his side can turn things around, starting with their clash against the Gunners, live on Sky Sports 1HD.
“We need time,” Lloris told reporters.
“It is important there is confidence between the players, manager and staff, and we are still learning and trying to improve.”
Spurs’ record against their top four rivals Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea is far from inspiring after picking up just one point in the last nine games against the quartet.
And Lloris believes that victory against the Premier League’s better teams is what is need to bring that extra confidence to Spurs' play.
“The difference between the top clubs and Tottenham is that they are used to winning,” Lloris added.
“Confidence happens when you win the big games.
"We are hungry and want to improve.
"We are at the beginning but can see progress."
