Wolves boss Kenny Jackett weighs up loan options

Wolves boss Kenny Jackett has admitted he may move to bring in a new striker during the loan window.

Jackett is keen to bring in a new forward after failing to land one before the close of the summer transfer window.

Wolves saw a potential move for Leicester's Chris Wood fall through last month and Jackett has refused to rule out bringing in a new face when the loan window reopens next week.

“The loan window opens within a week and it’s open to mid-November," Jackett told the Express & Star.

“So there’s not a lot of difference. Ideally you would take permanent signings and be able to work with them from day one of pre-season?

“But if you don’t quite get that, you have to adapt. Certainly there’s a market for taking a loan player, taking a look at him and converting it to a permanent deal.

“That’s something that does work because there can be players who you’re not certain about, you give them the opportunity for three or four months and you convert them into permanent signings at the next window.

“But in an ideal world you do your business early and then you’ve got all the players you want right the way through the season.

“There’s a public clamour to always sign players, driven by the media doing their jobs. But inside the we must make sure we strengthen when we feel that player is going to add to us, that’s the key for me.”
