Fleetwood sign striker Liam McAlinden on loan from Wolves
Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Liam McAlinden has joined Fleetwood on a three-month long loan deal.
The 21-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Molineux after the loan arrival of Yannick Sagbo from Hull.
He has moved to Highbury until January 3 and the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international is in line to make his debut at home to Port Vale on Saturday.
The Cod Army have failed to score in four of their previous five fixtures and boss Graham Alexander has only Stephen Dobbie, David Ball and Jamie Proctor in his attacking arsenal, with Jamille Matt out for the season due to a leg injury.
"There was contact during the early parts of the week that he'd be available for loan and there were a few clubs in for him," Alexander told the club's official site.
"We were very keen to try and do something, though, and we're really pleased that he's wanted to come to us and try to establish himself.
"He's very much a striker who likes to run in behind and play on the shoulder of defenders. His energy is great and he works very hard for the team.
"We only have three recognised strikers at the club right now, so Liam will be an extra weapon to our armoury. He wants to come in and score goals and I hope that's the case."
