Liverpool open talks over Jordan Henderson deal as Raheem Sterling discussions continue
Liverpool have opened talks with Jordan Henderson over a new deal, according to Sky sources.
The England midfielder's representatives are discussing an extension to his current contract, which is up in the summer of 2016.
And further talks with Raheem Sterling are expected in the coming weeks amid ongoing speculation of interest from Real Madrid.
Brendan Rodgers insisted at the weekend he has no concerns about Sterling's future, saying: "It's not a big issue for us.
"(Liverpool chief executive) Ian Ayre has spoken with his representatives and he is quite relaxed. The club is dealing with the agent so everything is calm."
"The boy is remarkably happy here and there are no secondary thoughts about anything else other than continuing to play for Liverpool."
Glen Johnson, meanwhile, is out-of-contract at the end of the season and is yet to reach agreement on a new deal.
He said: "Very quiet. I am just concentrating week by week and not thinking about it, I worry about this week, and then next week - that is how I live my life."
