The German knows how well PSG play as a unit but also that if FC Barcelona get it right, this is a game they can win

On a more personal level, he stressed how much he still needs to keep learning new things every day

Marc-André ter Stegen has become Luis Enrique’s regular first choice keeper in the Champions League. In his first press conference since the day he was presented, and on the eve of the game with PSG, he commented that “if we play the way we know we can, we’ll win … We want to finish top of the group”.

In the last few games I have shown that it’s all going well
Asked about former FCB man Zlatan Ibrahimovic, whose in such fine form and a major threat from set pieces, Ter Stegen agreed that a close eye needs to be kept on the Swede. But it’s PSG as a unit that he’s most concerned about. “We know how good Ibrahimovic is” he said. “He is one of the best. We’ll have to be careful with him … and with the rest of their team! Like us, they are dangerous as a team”.

Regarding his situation in the squad, the keeper commented that “I want to do the best I can. In the last few games I have shown that it’s all going well, but my aim to is to do as well as possible in every training session and to be the most complete player possible. You can never stop.”

Valdés can never be forgotten. Everybody has said good things about him
He also described how he is always observing his team-mates Claudio Bravo and Jordi Masip, because “I want to keep learning new things every day”.

But does Ter Stegen think that he and Bravo have done enough for the fans to forget the man they replaced, Víctor Valdés? “He is a player who can never be forgotten” was the reply. “Everybody said good things about him, that’s what I’ve heard, that he’s a fantastic person. We can’t forget him. We can only make sure that we do our job well”.
