Schurrle: I've never experienced such a crazy game

Andre Schurrle says he has "never experienced such a crazy game" after finishing on the winning side for Wolfsburg in a nine-goal thriller at the BayArena.

Wolfsburg led Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 at half-time, but the hosts fought their way back to level the scores at 4-4. A Bas Dost goal - his fourth of the game - earned Die Wolfe victory deep in stoppage time to keep them eight points behind German Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.

"I have led 3-0 with Mainz before and ended up drawing 4-4 - and that was against Wolfsburg - but to win 5-4 is even crazier than that," he told the German Football Association's website. "I've never experienced such a crazy game. It's pretty extraordinary in football to have so many goals going in at one end and the other."

Schurrle struck the post for Wolfsburg and is still waiting for his first goal since arriving from Chelsea, although he has been playing a hand in many of their goals. As long as the team is winning, the 24-year-old is not going to worry too much about not getting his own name on the scoresheet, despite having several chances to open his account for his new club.

"They were big chances which I would and should normally take so it is a shame of course, but that's the way things are in football sometimes," Schurrle added. "Sometimes they go in, sometimes they don't. I'll keep working and then the goals will come.

"I'm feeling good as part of this team. This is just the game I like - this quick, ambush-style counter-attacking. That's where I can play to my strengths and dribble the ball fast. That's exactly what I want. With the quality we've got in attack, it's great fun."
