Beauty from the Bronx - Super Snap
The Yankee Stadium is the most expensive sports arena ever built. Erected in 2008, its swanky exterior was made from 11,000 pieces of Indiana limestone, while its interior is decorated by hundreds of photographs of New York Yankees legends.
The venue is now home to another major sports team. New York City FC recently became the newest Major League Soccer franchise, and signed Mix Diskerud and David Villa. The USA midfielder scored the club’s first goal, while the Spain great was on target in their first victory.
Perhaps one day photos of the funky-named Norway native or the 33-year-old ‘Kid’ will appear alongside those of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle.
