43 days to go - FIFA WOMEN'S WORLD CUP

The youngest and oldest goalscorer at the FIFA Women's World Cup™ both came during USA 2003, when Russia's Elena Danilova, at 16-years-and-96-days-old, scored in the 89th minute against Australia to seal a 2-1 win, while Charmaine Hooper's lone goal against China PR in the quarter-finals sent Canada through to the semi-finals; she was 35-years-and-261-days-old at the time.

Russia were beaten by Germany 7-1 in the quarter-finals that year, and Sweden stopped Canada's charge at the semi-final stage 2-1, and the Germans edged the Swedish 2-1 in the Final.
