The adidas Fevernova™ was the official match ball for the FIFA Women’s World Cup USA 2003™, and while the American hosts had a slightly disappointing showing at the competition, the German team were clearly huge fans of the Fevernova, scoring 25 goals at an average of 4.2 per game along the way to their maiden world championship.
Birgit Prinz took home adidas Golden Shoe honours in 2003, firing the Fevernova into the back of the net on seven occasions, while team-mate Maren Meinart scored four times during the tournament to make her the second-highest scorer.
