Krasnodar edge Lokomotiv, CSKA sink Torpedo

Krasnodar edged past Lokomotiv Moscow 1-0 on Saturday to reduce Zenit St. Petersburg's lead at the top of the Russian Premier League standings to five points. Mauricio Pereyra scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 38th minute as second-placed Krasnodar recorded their 15th league victory of the season to remain in touching distance of Andre Villas-Boas' leaders, who play Arsenal Tula on Sunday.

CSKA Moscow beat city rivals Torpedo 2-0 thanks to second-half goals from Carlos Strandberg and Bibras Natkho. Third-placed CSKA remained four points behind Krasnodar, while Torpedo dropped to bottom after Amkar Perm 2-1 won at home against Terek Grozny.

Aleksandr Prudnikov put Amkar into a 21st-minute lead but Junior Mauricio levelled matters six minutes before half-time. Branko Jovicic came off the bench to score shortly after the hour mark to earn Amkar only their fifth league victory of the season.
