The Barça coach knows Sevilla are very tough to beat at home and that his players need to be on to win on Saturday night
Luis Enrique knows that Saturday’s match between FC Barcelona and Sevilla at the Sánchez Pizjuán is going to be tough. "We’ll have to play very well to beat them," he said in Friday’s press conference.
After the morning training session, the Barça skipper talked about his team going into the toughest stretch of the season. He knows going up against Unai Emery’s squad is never easy, but a win is fully expected. "Draws are never good for us."
Ever the optimist, Luis Enrique sees his team in top form at the moment and said that it was no surprise that they are where they are at this point in the season. “It's always easier to win when you play well,” he said. “Until now our season is going pretty well.” When asked about how his team can stop Sevilla and their potent aerial game, the Barça coach was direct. “We'll try to do what we do best,” he explained.
Here are some of the highlights of what he had to say:
"Sevilla are one of the most complete teams in La Liga, and the standings prove it."
"In the first half of the season they played touch and go and pressed other teams. But over the course of the season they’ve evolved a bit into something simpler as far as football is concerned. But it’s just as effective, if not more.”
"There's no way you can judge Denis Suárez and Deulofeu based on one game,"
"Our players are seasoned veterans when it comes to dealing with rumours and controversies. It doesn't affect them at all."
"In the end we have to win titles. The toughest part is yet to come."
