28,098 was the crowd for the Opening Match of the FIFA Women's World Cup China PR 2007™, when Germany demolished Argentina 11-0 at the Shanghai Hongkou Football Stadium.
Germany took a 5-0 lead into half-time, and they then proceeded to score another six in the second half. Birgit Prinz and Sandra Smisek both struck for hat-tricks, with goals coming as early as the 12th minute and as late as the first minute of second-half stoppage time.
