Atletico Mineiro dispatched Fluminense 4-1 at home on Sunday to earn their first win of the new Campeonato season.

A first-half brace from Jemerson put Atletico in total control before the break, while Jesus Datalo and Luan extended their advantage in the second half.

The only blemish on an otherwise perfect performance saw Fluminese striker Fred earn a consolation from the penalty spot a minute before full time.

Atletico moved up to second in the standings, two points behind leaders Corinthians, and are one of five sides on four points.

Midfielder Everton scored in the sixth minute of time added on as Flamengo fought back from two goals down at home to rescue a 2-2 draw against Sport Recife.

A Diego Souza penalty just before half-time and further strike by Elber saw Recife into the ascendancy but Hector Canteros pulled a goal back midway through the second half before Everton's last-gasp equaliser.

Renato Caja's 14th-minute strike earned Ponte Preta a 1-0 win against Sao Paulo, Santos beat Cruzeiro by the same scoreline thanks to Geuvanio's goal on the stroke of half-time and Vitinho's second-half goal saw Internacional edge past Avai.

Figueirense and Vasco da Gama played out a goalless draw, as did Joinville and Palmeiras.
