Valencia have completed the signing of Mathew Ryan, the Spanish La Liga club have announced. The Australian international has penned a six-year deal and joins from Club Brugge where he was voted the best goalkeeper in the Belgian Super League for the past two seasons.

"Valencia Football Club have reached an agreement with Belgian side Club Brugge KV to sign Australian international goalkeeper Mathew Ryan on a six-year deal," read a statement on the club's official website.

The 23-year-old joins Diego Alves and Yoel in battling for the No1 position at the Mestalla.

"I know that the club is a very important institution in the world of football and that this move is a big step in my professional career," he told the club's official website. "Of course, I was following Valencia CF in La Liga last season. They are a side with fantastic players, who had a great campaign and took fourth place in the league. Our main objective now is to qualify for the Champions League."
