Bastian Schweinsteiger outlined his desire to bring the glory days back to Old Trafford after being unveiled as a Manchester United player.
United pulled off one of the signings of the summer when they bought FIFA World Cup™ winner Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich. As well as the World Cup, Schweinsteiger has won the UEFA Champions League once and the Bundesliga eight times.
Now, the midfielder wants to win silverware with his new club. "I am very happy to be here and to play for Man Utd," the German said at his unveiling during United's pre-season tour of the United States.
"It is a big honour. It's a new step in my life. I want to win titles, it's easy. Manchester United is used to that and I am too, so that's my goal."
Schweinsteiger was speaking at a press conference in Seattle, where United start their tour against Club America in the early hours of Saturday morning. He was sat alongside fellow midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, who has signed from Southampton, and right-back Matteo Darmian, who joined from Torino.
"I want to win titles. Manchester United is used to that and I am too, so that's my goal."

Manager Louis van Gaal, who was on the top table with the trio, expressed his delight at signing the three players, and Memphis Depay, who moved to the club from PSV Eindhoven in May. "I am very happy because they are in my opinion very good players," Van Gaal said.
"That is why Manchester United has bought them. I am very happy that they are already here before the tour because we can prepare in the tour already all the team elements what I have to implement with the new players, also Memphis Depay is here and now we have three new signings so it's much better than last year."
Schweinsteiger's move reunites him with the manager who he played under with Bayern for two years. Schweinsteiger added: "It's good we know each other. We had a great time there. It was very good for my development.
"We won titles, we won the treble and it was not always like that years ago. We know each other but I am here for Man Utd because it's a big club and I look forward to playing at Old Trafford.
