Based on the decision of the FIFA Executive Committee on 20 July to expedite the reform process, the confederations’ presidents and Sonia Bien-Aimé as representative of CONCACAF met with FIFA President Blatter in St. Petersburg to discuss the FIFA Task Force “Reforms” and its composition.
At this meeting, it was decided that the Task Force “Reforms” should be chaired by an independent person from outside of the world of football. The work of the task force will be overseen by the independent bodies of FIFA, namely the Audit & Compliance, the Disciplinary and the Ethics Committees.
It is also important to note that the two representatives per confederation must not necessarily be members of the football community. This is completely at the discretion of the confederations.
