Valencia have signed Brazilian midfielder Danilo Barbosa on a season-long loan from Braga. The Primera Division side will have an option to acquire the player's sporting rights at the end of the 2015/16 campaign.
A statement from Valencia read: "Valencia have reached an agreement with Sporting Club de Braga to acquire Brazilian player Danilo Barbosa temporarily until 30 June 2016, with an buy-out option included."
The 19-year-old scored two goals in 23 appearances for Portuguese side Braga, whom he joined from Vasco de Gama last summer. Barbosa played for the Brazil side that finished runners-up to Serbia at the FIFA U-20 World Cup that was recently held in New Zealand.
He was awarded the Silver Ball as the second best player of the tournament and is delighted to have joined Valencia.
"I'm really happy to arrive to this great club," Danilo said on the club's official website. "This is a moment of great happiness for me to face this challenge. Valencia is a club with a lot of history and I want to be a part of it. I'm going to give everything for this jersey."
Valencia president Chan Lay Hoon is delighted by Danilo's arrival at the Mestalla.
"It's a great joy to announce the signing of another young quality player," she said. "There were many clubs interested in signing him but I'm very happy that he chose our project.
"Danilo was one of the best players at the U-20 World Cup, he was the captain of that Brazilian team and that proves the character he has. I'm sure our fans cannot wait to see him play."
Valencia have this month already signed 19-year-old winger Zakaria Bakkali as a free agent and Spain U-19 international Santi Mina from Celta Vigo.
Los Che, coached by Portuguese tactician Nuno, finished fourth in La Liga during the 2014/15 campaign and will play in next season's UEFA Champions League.
