Sevilla have confirmed the signing of striker Fernando Llorente on a free transfer from Juventus.

"Sevilla FC have signed Fernando Llorente on Thursday, who arrives in Nervion as a free agent after having reached an agreement for the recision of his contract with Juventus," read a statement from the UEFA Europa League holders. "The Spanish international striker will be tied to the club for the next three seasons and has a 20 million euro buyout clause."

Llorente joined Juventus on a free transfer from Athletic Bilbao two years ago and went on to win back-to-back Serie A titles, as well as playing a role as they reached the UEFA Champions League final last season. However, he has seen his first-team opportunities limited by the arrivals of Alvaro Morata, Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala over the past two summers.

Sevilla were in need of attacking reinforcements after the sale of Carlos Bacca to AC Milan.

Llorente has scored seven goals in 23 games for Spain, and was part of the squads that won the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ and UEFA EURO 2012. The 30-year-old hasn't featured for the national team in two years.
