‘The Millionaires’ are evidently looking forward to a forthcoming trip to the Far East. River Plate qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2015 by winning the Copa Libertadores, and in the Superclásico against Boca Juniors, their fans displayed a Japanese flag – made out of balloons!

River will be the fourth Argentinian side to participate in the competition. Boca , Estudiantes and San Lorenzo lost in the final to AC Milan in 2007, Barcelona in 2009 and Real Madrid in 2014 respectively.

Tickets for River’s semi-final in Osaka are currently sold out, though more may become available in November.
