Russia's reigning champions Zenit St. Petersburg kept the wheels on their title defence with a 5-1 rout of strugglers Anzhi Makhachkala on Saturday.
Forward Artem Dzyuba's brace and contributions from midfielders Axel Witsel and Oleg Shatov and then Hulk earned the Saint Petersburg club a well-deserved win. The result left Zenit third, seven points behind leaders CSKA Moscow who are at Terek Grozny on Sunday, and two behind Lokomotiv.
Elsewhere Ural Yekaterinburg beat visitors Amkar Perm 3-1 in the Ural region's derby to go sixth, and Mordovia Saransk battled to a 1-1 draw with Kuban Krasnodar.
