Switzerland international full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner is set to spend a month on the sidelines after undergoing an operation on Friday, his club Juventus said.
The 31-year-old suffered breathing difficulties ten days ago during a match against Frossinone, in which he had to be replaced at half-time, Juventus confirmed.
He was taken to hospital and kept under observation while tests were conducted and ascertained that he had an irregular heartbeat that would need surgery to fix.
Juve did not specify the nature of the operation, which took place on Friday, but said Lichtsteiner would be out for around one month.
