The top sides in Europe's women's leagues all remain on course for glory after impressive results in the latest round of fixtures. In Germany, Turbine Potsdam did not even play but still maintained their position atop the Frauen Bundesliga, while Spanish pacesetters Atletico Madrid protected their lead over Barcelona, and Fiorentina extended their run of victories in Italy. FIFA.com recaps all the latest developments in women's club football.

Spain: Atletico still lead the way
Atletico made hard work of their meeting with relegation-threatened Fundacion Albacete but finally prevailed thanks to Laura Fernandez's last-minute effort in a 1-0 win. That kept the capital side four points clear of Barcelona, who enjoyed a more comfortable 3-0 home success against Rayo Vallecano. The Catalan side went ahead through Patricia Gutierrez in the first half before Brazilian international Andressa doubled their lead with ten minutes remaining and Marta Unzue struck just before the final whistle. Valencia held on to third after dispatching Sporting Huelva 2-0.

Germany: Wolfsburg close gap
With Turbine Potsdam's game against Hoffenheim postponed until 12 March, second-placed Wolfsburg took full advantage to move within a point of the summit. Die Wolfinnentriumphed in style too, brushing aside FC Sand 4-1 in front of their own fans. Anna Blasse, Tessa Wullaert and Sara Bjork Gunnarsdottir all registered for the hosts, along with an own goal from Claire Savin, before Nina Burger mustered a consolation for Sand. The win lifted Wolfsburg back above Bayern Munich, just 24 hours after the Bavarian outfit had edged Freiburg 3-2 to go second. Norway's Nora Holstad Berge slotted in the decisive goal for the visitors.

Italy: Fiorentina stay strong
Fiorentina continued their winning run after helping themselves to six unanswered goals against Chieti, forward Tatiana Bonetti scoring two of them to go third in the scoring charts. Marta Carissimi, Elena Linari, Patrizia Caccamo and Deborah Salvatori Rinaldi also found the net as the leaders displayed their credentials with panache. Further back, second-placed Brescia won 4-1 at Cuneo and Verona, in third, had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Como.

Elsewhere
In the Netherlands, Ajax kept up their title pursuit by posting a 5-0 victory away to Zwolle. That ensured the leaders remain 11 points clear of Twente, who also caught the eye on their way to triumphing 7-2 at Telstar.

The situation is tighter in Portugal after both Braga and Sporting Club grabbed big wins to remain locked together on 47 points at the summit. Top on goal difference, Braga inflicted a punishing 7-0 defeat on Benfica, while Sporting swept aside A-dos-Francos 6-1.

Lastly, Neunkirch consolidated their lead in Switzerland by romping to a 9-0 victory against Lugano, though they have yet to shake off Basel. Their closest rivals edged Luzern 1-0 to stay in contention.
