AFP
Just like every Sunday, we whet your appetite with a sneak peek at what is in store for you on FIFA.com in the coming days.
The FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017 field will be completed next Sunday, 5 February, following the final of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations Gabon 2017. Whoever lifts the trophy will go on to represent Africa at the Tournament of Champions, where they will face Chile, Germany and Australia in a tasty-looking Group B. FIFA.com will be shining the spotlight on the business end of the AFCON throughout this week and will be continuing to bring you close to the action with round-ups after every matchday, not to mention a steady supply of pictures and interviews.
This Monday marks 500 days until the beginning of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. This is the perfect occasion for FIFA.com to carry on our build-up to the big event. That day you will hear from Norman Whiteside, who remains the youngest player to feature in a senior World Cup, having graced the global extravaganza with Northern Ireland shortly after his 17th birthday. On Tuesday, meanwhile, we will be exploring the story of another history-maker: Liam Walker, the scorer of Gibraltar's first-ever goal in an official FIFA competition.
Women's football will once again take pride of place on FIFA.com with our weekly review of the latest developments in the leading leagues and our monthly round-up of the major happenings across the female game. Furthermore, on Friday we will be taking you to the Philippines to look at the country's dream of qualifying for the 2018 AFC Women's Asian Cup.
All of our regular features will also be coming your way in the coming days, as will scores of videos, photos, interviews, statistics and much more. Have a great week of football onFIFA.com.
