47 days to go: Record-breaking volunteers head to Russia - FIFA CONFEDERATIONS CUP

More than 47,000 people from outside Russia applied to volunteer at the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™. International applications accounted for 27 per cent of the total figure, and the rest came from within the host nation.
In total, close to 177,000 people from 190 countries around the world expressed an interest in becoming a volunteer, a new record for FIFA World Cups. Aside from Russia, the most applications came from Egypt, Mexico and Colombia.
This year’s Confederations Cup will see 5,844 volunteers at work from 78 different countries. You can see more stats about volunteers at the Tournament of Champions here.
