Manchester City's full squad available ahead of Barcelona Champions League date
Manchester City's full squad were put through their paces at Carrington ahead of flying out to Barcelona for the Champions League last-16 second leg.
City travel out knowing they must overturn a 2-1 first leg deficit at the Nou Camp on Wednesday with only full-back Gael Clichy unavailable following his red card at the Etihad in the first leg.
Former England U21 and City manager Stuart Pearce told the Morning View on Sky Sports News HQ he did not think the club would be travelling to Spain confident of a positive outcome.
When asked if he thought they could go through to the quarter-finals of Europe's premier club competition, Pearce said: "No, in a word. I don't think they can.
"If Barcelona get the first goal it's goodnight. Manchester City have to make sure they don't concede an early goal in this game."
Manuel Pellegrini's men face the Catalans after a first ever defeat to Burnley, one of three defeats in the past four games in all competitions, and Pearce believes the Chilean should resist the temptation to play two forwards up front to rescue the tie.
"There's a big misconception in football, you play two strikers you get more shots on goal," he said.
"We did a study with our U21s of us playing with one or two. It equated to the same number of efforts on the opposition goal whether we play one or two. Efforts at our goal from the opposition went up 40% with two up front.
