Polish international midfielder Gregorz Krychowiak has extended his contract with UEFA Europa League holders Sevilla until 2019, the La Liga side confirmed.
Krychowiak was a key member of the side that guided Sevilla to a second consecutive Europa League title, scoring in the final against Ukranians Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, and a fifth-placed finish in the league last season.
"In little more than a year he has become one of the natural leaders of the team and tied himself to the club for a further year with a buyout clause of €45 million," Sevilla said in a statement on their website.
Krychowiak had reportedly been a transfer target for Arsenal after his impressive displays last season and was one of the mainstays in the Poland team that qualified for next year's European Championships last month.
