Alex Tettey confident of Norwich promotion push

Alex Tettey is confident Norwich can push for promotion this season after deadline day passed without any disruption to the squad.

The Canaries managed to retain the services of Nathan Redmond and Gary Hooper, who were linked with moves away, with Andrew Surman and Luciano Becchio the only two to depart.

Boss Neil Adams, though, did bring in three players, with Ignasi Miquel and Louis Thompson signed on permanent deals from Arsenal and Swindon, who have loaned the highly-rated midfielder back for the rest of the season.

Experienced Dutch defender Jos Hooiveld also joined on a season-long loan from Southampton.

City sit fourth in the Sky Bet Championship with 10 points from five games, going unbeaten in four following their opening-day defeat at promoted Wolves.

Tettey, speaking after being an unused substitute in Norway's 1-0 friendly defeat to England at Wembley, said: "Besides the first game at Wolves we have managed to play well and were unlucky not to beat Bournemouth.

"Overall we are really pleased to have 10 points from five games.

"At the beginning the club said they did not need to sell and they have proven that. I think only two players have left us but the club have also brought in good coverage.

"The aim is still to get promotion and with all the players we have in the squad now, although there are a lot of games, the hope is we can push on.

"You need to have a good group of players, one that is very positive with everybody working towards the same goal. That has shown now and is good for the season ahead."
