Former Ipswich Town midfielder Darren Ambrose rejoins club

Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy has strengthened his squad by bringing midfielder Darren Ambrose back to Portman Road until January.

The 30-year-old will embark on a third spell with the Tractor Boys, having been at the club as a trainee before moving to Newcastle for £1million back in 2003 and also joining on-loan from Charlton between November 2008 and January 2009.

The Harlow-born player, who made his first-team debut for Town as an 18-year-old against Arsenal in the Premier League, has also spent time with Crystal Palace, Birmingham and Greek outfit Apollon Smyrni.

Ambrose will wear number 29 and declared he has "unfinished business" at the club.
