Morecambe v Northampton preview

Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Morecambe and Northampton Town at the Globe Arena.

Jamie Devitt is a major doubt for Morecambe's home game with Northampton.

The Shrimps, who have lost two in a row, are likely to be without midfielder Devitt because of a hamstring problem, with boss Jim Bentley conceding this contest is likely to come too soon for him.

However, Bentley is more upbeat about the prospect of Alan Goodall (foot) and Andrew Fleming (hip) featuring for a side yet to lose at home in League Two this season.

Captain Mark Hughes was dropped for the Shrimps' last fixture and Bentley has suggested he will continue with Rob Edwards and Andy Parrish as his preferred centre-back pairing.

Northampton boss Chris Wilder is hoping to have defender Zander Diamond back for the trip after he missed last week's 5-4 home defeat to Accrington.

Diamond was forced off during the Cobblers' previous 5-1 demolition of Hartlepool with an ankle injury and was not quite ready to return against Stanley.

However, goalkeeper Matt Duke (thigh), defenders Evan Horwood (tendinitis) and Kelvin Langmead (Achilles) and forward Emile Sinclair (ankle) are all still expected to be a couple of weeks away from a return.

Midfield duo Ian Morris (knee) and Lewis Hornby (tendinitis) are other absentees, but Wilder has ruled out bringing in any more loan signings for the time being.
