All the facts and figures ahead of the game

The last Clasico was played on March 23 – 216 days ago.Five players have moved on since then:  Víctor Valdés and Cesc Fàbregas (Barça) and Diego López, Xabi Alonso and Di María (Real Madrid).

This will be Leo Messi’s twenty-ninth Clasico. So far he’s won 14, drawn 7 and lost 7, whilst scoring 21 goals and giving 12 assists.

The last time a game ended without goals between the two was on November 23 2002 at the Camp Nou.

The last time Barça went to the Bernabeu with a four point lead in the league they came away with a famous 2-6 win.

The most repeated result in the fixture is a 2-1 win for Madrid, which has happened 18 times. The next most frequent result is a 1-1 draw.

FC Barcelona have won eight of the last twelve games against Madrid, with two defeats and two draws.

This is the third time the fixture has been played on October 25: both the previous games were played in Madrid, with a win for each team.

Leo Messi is the only player in the two teams’ squads who’s scored a hat trick in a Clasico – something he’s done twice, in the3-3 draw at the Camp Nou in March 2007 and in the 3-4 win at the Bernabeu last season.

Barça have still not concede a goal in the eight league games so far this season, whilst Real Madrid have conceded 9.

If he plays and keeps a clean sheet, Claudio Bravo will take his unbeaten start in the league to 810 minutes, just 14 short of  Miguel Reina’s record set in the 1972/73 season.
