Max Allegri asks Juventus to show nerves of steel v Olympiakos
Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has called on his players to show "nerves of steel" and claim a "mandatory" victory from Tuesday's Champions League Group A encounter with Olympiacos in Turin.
The Italian side go into the contest lying third in the pool, with their three games so far having yielded three points - three fewer than their second-placed Greek opponents, who defeated them 1-0 in Piraeus last time out.
And Allegri, quoted by www.corrieredellosport.it, said ahead of the return fixture: "We must remain calm without being overwhelmed by external pressures, like the talk of Juve having a complex in Europe.
"(The fixture) is a good test against a team that beat us when playing at home.
"We will give great intensity and it is mandatory for us to win.
"Compared to the game in Greece, we will err less and be more clinical in front of the keeper.
"It will take patience and nerves of steel to bring home the result."
The Bianconeri started their campaign with victory over Malmo but back-to-back defeats to Atletico Madrid and Olympiacos have left their hopes of emerging from the group in the balance.
Olympiacos' players, meanwhile, are feeling good about their chances of pulling off another positive result against Juve.
Forward Dimitris Diamantakos said on www.olympiacos.org: "Every time we play we are optimistic.
"We are Olympiacos, we want to win and I think in the end this will pay off."
Defender Tasos Avlonitis said: "We are coming up against an institution - it is a different level.
"But I think, given what we have already shown in the Champions League, we can get something in Turin."
