West Ham midfielder Stewart Downing misses England training
Stewart Downing was the only absentee from training at St George's Park as England stepped up their preparations ahead of the Euro 2106 qualifier against Slovenia on Saturday.
The West Ham midfielder picked up a knock in training on Thursday and missed Friday’s session as a precaution although he is expected to be fit for the game at Wembley on Saturday.
Andros Townsend and Michael Carrick have already been ruled of the game through injury and have returned to their respective clubs to undergo treatment.
The game will see England captain Wayne Rooney make his 100th international appearance and the Manchester United striker will presented with a special gold cap prior to the match.
Rooney is England’s fourth highest goalscorer and will become only the ninth Englishman to reach the milestone.
At 29 years of age, Rooney will become the youngest England player to reach a century of international caps.
