60 days to go - FIFA WOMEN'S WORLD CUP
ust over 60 women’s national teams existed in 1997 and that number has since increased to nearly 140, which is an exciting trend to see continuing, especially as FIFA's Live Your Goals programme continues to impact young girls' lives around the world and introduces them to the beautiful game.
Similarly, the number of participating teams in FIFA Women’s World Cup™ qualifiers has almost tripled from 45 teams in 1991 to 128 in 2015. The number of qualification matches for the Women’s World Cup has also risen considerably from 110 in 1991 to 398 in 2015.
