CSKA Moscow moved back into second spot in the Russian Super League to take the race for UEFA Champions League football into the final weekend of the season.

Leonid Slutsky's men were convincing 3-0 winners over Rubin Kazan, with two goals from Zoran Tosic (44 and 55) and Roman Eremenko's strike on the hour mark making sure of the points.

The victory sees CSKA join Krasnodar on 59 points but with a superior goal difference, and victory at Rostov on Saturday would likely wrap up a top-two finish.

Russian Cup winners Lokomotiv Moscow were held to a 1-1 draw by Kuban Krasnodar. Balde Ibra's 24th-minute opener gave Kuban the lead and Lokomotiv's task was made even harder by the dismissal of Oumar Niasse after 82 minutes. However, Manuel Fernandes' leveller two minutes from time earned a point for the hosts.
