Eleven own goals have been scored at the FIFA Women's World Cup™ during the first six editions of the tournament.
New Zealand's Terry McCahill owns the unfortunate honour of scoring the first-ever own goal of the competition, when she put the ball in her own net to open the scoring in Norway's 4-0 rout of the Football Ferns on 19 November at the inaugural Women's World Cup China PR 1991.
