Russian Premier League leaders Zenit St. Petersburg consolidated their hold on top spot with a 3-0 win over Rostov on Sunday. Two goals immediately before half-time put Zenit in control as Oleg Shatov and Hulk scored in quick succession.

Jose Salomon Rondon then made sure two minutes from time. The win sees Zenit go nine points clear of Krasnodar, who face Amkar Perm on Monday.

CSKA are, for now at least, one point behind Krasnodar after a 3-1 derby win away to Lokomotiv Moscow. They took the lead through Alan Dzagoev in the 36th minute only for Oumar Niasse to reply almost immediately, but second-half goals from Zoran Tosic and Bebras Natcho, the latter a penalty, secured the points.

CSKA are now five points clear of fourth-placed Dinamo Moscow, who were held to a goalless draw by Torpedo Moscow.
