Centre-back Leonardo Bonucci has signed a five-year contract extension with Juventus, the Italian Serie A club have announced. The 28-year-old Italy international will now remain at the Italian champions until at least 2020.

"Leonardo Bonucci has today committed his long-term future to Juventus, renewing his contract for another five years which will keep him with the club until 2020," a statement on the club's official website said.

"The strength of a side is not always based entirely on its success in attracting new arrivals, it is also the ability to secure the futures of its most important players in the prime years of their careers, as Bonnuci is at the age of 28. Congratulations Leo and here's to another five years in the black and white of Juventus."

Bonucci joined Juve from Bari in 2010 and has helped the Bianconeri to four league titles, two Supercoppa Italiana titles, a Coppa Italia win last season along with a UEFA Champions League runners-up medal.
