Then just before the break, Juventus extended their advantage with a fine, right-footed volley from Dani Alves, who was arguably more worthy of a goal than any other Juventus player for his influential performances in both legs of this semi-final, having been involved in all four goals in the tie. The Brazilian full-back drove home Danijel Subasic’s punched clearance from distance to put the Italian giants a step away from next month’s final in Cardiff.

Juventus built on last week’s first-leg result with a 2-1 victory over Monaco in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final. The win secured the Italian champions’ berth in next month’s final in Cardiff after a 4-1 aggregate success.

First-half goals by Mario Mandzukic and Dani Alves at the Juventus Stadium in Turin ensured it was the Bianconeri that would book their trip to the Welsh capital. Kylian Mbappe’s second-half reply was a mere consolation for a Monaco side that looked outmatched over the two legs of this semi-final contest.
