Cruzeiro, Atletico Nacional, Estudiantes progress

Cruzeiro beat Universitario 2-0 as both sides qualified from Group 3 of the Copa Libertadores on Tuesday.

Goals either side of half-time from Willian and Leo saw Cruzeiro to victory and top spot in the group on 11 points. Marquinhos, who set up Leo's goal, told GloboEsporte.com: "We are ready to face any opponents, we have no preference."

Defeat left Universitario needing Huracan to slip up - and the Argentinians were surprisingly thumped 3-0 by already-eliminated Venezuelan side Mineros. Zamir Valoyes' first-half double and Rafael Acosta's 64th-minute strike prevented Huracan marking their first Libertadores appearance in 41 years with a place in the last 16.

Colombian giants Atletico Nacional and Estudiantes of Argentina progressed from Group 7. Nacional showed no mercy as they beat Libertad of Paraguay 4-0 at home with a brace by Luis Carlos Ruiz in the opening minutes of the second period. Yulian Mejia had opened the scoring with a left-footed strike and Jonathan Copete added another with 18 minutes to go.

Estudiantes, meanwhile, saw off already-eliminated Barcelona of Ecuador 2-0 to finish second in the group. Guido Carrillo missed a penalty in the second half but the Argentinians qualified regardless as Gabriel Milito began his coaching career with a win. Luciano Acosta netted the opener in the 77th minute and Carrillo doubled the lead five minutes later.
